Last year, we reported that a restaurant might be coming to a section of South Boston that is mostly residential and industrial. Now we have learned that plans are still in the works for the dining spot, though it now has a different name.
According to an article in Boston Magazine, Publico is going to be opening on the ground floor of Allure at 11 Dorchester Street, a new luxury apartment building a few blocks north of Broadway. The new eatery, which will be run by Teodora Bakardzhieva (Locke-Ober, Emerald Lounge, Rooftop @ Revere), Jairo Dominguez, and Theo Bougas, will have seating for 150, a main dining room, a bar, and an atrium with more seating and a bar. Expect to see comfort food with European and Latin American influences at Publico, with Keenan Langlois (Sinclair, Gaslight Brasserie, Union Bar & Grille) heading up the kitchen.
If all goes as planned, Publico will open sometime in January.
