A growing group of Mexican restaurants that started out as a food cart just outside of Washington, DC may be coming to the local area.
According to a press release, District Taco is seeking franchise partners to expand to multiple locations in the Greater Boston area, with President/COO Chris Medhurst saying that "We believe Boston has an ideal mix of business and student communities, and a vibrant, growing population. We're looking forward to bringing District Taco to New England and building on the success we've seen in other regions." District Taco was established in Rosslyn, VT in 2009, expanding from its sole food cart there to multiple restaurants in Virginia, Washington, DC, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania; the chain is known for its Yucatán-style Mexican food including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.
