A Cambridge fish market is getting ready to say farewell to its space.
A poster within the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page says (via a Cambridge Day article) that Fernandes Fish Market in Inman Square is planning to close down on June 24, as the Cambridge Street building in which it resides will be undergoing renovations including bringing the basement up to code--and the building will be "unsafe" while the renovations are being made. The article mentions that the lease for the market was terminated a few months ago, but owner Manny Soares has been able to keep the place open via monthly extensions.
Fernandes Fish Market first opened 28 years ago, offering seafood, cheese, olives, and other items.
The address for Fernandes Fish Market is 1097 Cambridge Street, Cambridge, MA, 02139.
