Pinky's Plans to Open in the Former Itadaki Space in Boston's Back Bay

A new restaurant and bar with Spanish influences could be coming to the Back Bay of Boston, and a couple of familiar names are behind the proposal.

Universal Hub confirms what we heard last week, that Pinky's is planning to open on Newbury Street in the space that had been home to Itadaki, with Richard Sullivan (The Flamingo, R.F. O'Sullivan's) being the manager listed while a Google search shows a Bizapedia entry indicating that Jairo Dominguez (The Flamingo, Publico, Backyard Betty's, Casa Cana, Madre, Bar Mercato, The Grande/Rock & Rye) is also involved. The article mentions that Pinky's plans to offer small plates and street food that are "inspired by northern Spain" along with some larger dishes, and that craft cocktails and "curated" wines may be served as well. (Attorney Tom Miller told the Boston Licensing Board that the place would be "reminiscent of a speakeasy.")

Sullivan has asked the board to hold off on any decision on a liquor license transfer until after a meeting with the Neighborhood Association of the Back Bay takes place.

The address for the proposed Pinky's is 269 Newbury Street, Boston, MA, 02116.
