A new restaurant may be on its way to the South End of Boston, moving into a space that had been home to a dining spot known for its pizza.
According to a source, Marina's is planning to open in the former A4 space within the Troy Boston apartment building on E Berkeley Street, with The Coda Group (SRV, The Salty Pig) being behind the proposed place. It looks like the restaurant will offer shareable plates with Mediterranean influences including a raw bar, grilled meats, and vegetarian dishes, while bar offerings will include local beers, natural wines, and classic cocktails. Marina's looks to have seating for approximately 100 people along with bar seating for 16, and a patio with 20 seats is in the plans as well.
It is not known when A4 officially closed, as it had been shuttered for awhile during the pandemic; the original Area Four can be found in Cambridge's Kendall Square area while A4 Cafe resides by the original Area Four, and A4cade can be found near MIT.
The address for the proposed Marina's is 264 E Berkeley Street, Boston, MA, 02118.
