A now-closed dive bar that catered in part to students could be returning, though to a new location.
According to an article from Universal Hub, Mary Ann's--which had been located on Beacon Street in Brighton's Cleveland Circle area--is hoping to reopen in Allston, moving into a space on Franklin Street near where it meets Cambridge Street. The post mentions that City Realty, which has been buying a number of local bars of late, would be behind the rebirth of the watering hole, with a licensing board hearing slated to look at the plans on Wednesday, November 3.
As stated earlier here, the old Mary Ann's space is supposed to be taken over by a dispensary.
