SALT to Open in Piccadilly Square in Newton Centre

A well-known pastry chef is going to be opening a pastry shop in the western suburbs of Boston.

According to an article from boston.com, Thiago Silva is planning to open SALT in Piccadilly Square in Newton Centre, with the Beacon Street shop being a patisserie that features such items as breads, chocolates, cakes, pastries, viennoiseries (Vienna-style baked goods), prepared items to-go, and coffee. Silva, who was born and Brazil and raised in Queens, is known in part for his appearances on Food Network shows "Chopped" and "Dessert Games," both of which he won.

If all goes as planned, SALT will open early next year.
