The Local in West Newton Is for Lease

A small group of neighborhood restaurants known in part for its small plates and New American fare appears to have shut down its original location.

According to a source (Young-Ho Yoon), The Local in West Newton is shuttered, with a picture sent showing a "For Lease" sign out front. A check on the website for the group of dining spots seems to confirm its closure, as the Washington Street space has been removed from the locations section. (It looks like locations in Waltham, Wayland, Wellesley, and Woburn remain in operation.)

The West Newton location of The Local first opened in 2008, with the place being seen as a gastropub-style eatery.

The address for The Local in West Newton was 1391 Washington Street, West Newton, MA 02465. The website for the other locations of The Local can be found at https://ift.tt/2UvZbS5
