Douglass Williams to Open New Restaurant in Newtonville

An award-winning local chef is going to be opening a new restaurant in the western suburbs of Boston.

Eater Boston is reporting that Douglass Williams of Mida in the South End--along with partners  Brian Lesser and Seth Gerber--is planning to open an as-of-yet unnamed dining spot at Trio Newton, a mixed use development at the corner of Walnut Street and Washington Street in Newtonville. The post mentions that the new restaurant will feature Italian food (lunch, dinner, and a Sunday brunch will be offered) while the space will include a bar and an outdoor patio. If all goes well, the new dining spot may debut next spring.

Williams, who was picked as one of the best new chefs in America by Food & Wine this year, is also working on opening Apizza at the Hub on Causeway in Boston, which will offer both New Haven-style and Roman-style pizza.
