Liberty Tavern Plans to Open in Former Angelo's Coal Fired Pizza Space in Quincy

A new restaurant may be coming to a red-hot downtown area that is being redeveloped, and it would be opening in the space where a pizzeria had been until it shut down last fall.

According to a source, Liberty Tavern is planning to open in Quincy Center, with a Board of License Commissioners Agenda page within the city's website indicating that the dining spot would be moving into the space on Hancock Street where Angelo's Coal Fired Pizza had been. Very little is known about the proposed restaurant other than the fact that it is seeking a common victualler license, a full liquor license, and a cabaret license, the last of which indicates that Liberty Tavern may have a section where patrons can dance.

Angelo's shut down in November of 2018 after approximately four years in business.

The address for the proposed Liberty Tavern is 1657 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA, 02169.
