Governor Baker Orders All Non-Essential Businesses to Close Starting Tomorrow; Restaurants Not Affected

A new order has just been announced by Governor Charlie Baker that goes into effect tomorrow.

According to a press conference this morning, Governor Baker is ordering that all non-essential businesses be closed starting at noon on Tuesday, March 24 and that they will remain closed until Tuesday, April 7. This does not affect grocery stores (and the businesses that supply them), pharmacies, or gas stations--and restaurants can continue to offer takeout and/or delivery. Governor Baker is also urging people to stay at home when not out at the businesses mentioned above, abut they can take walks around the block or at the park--and of course, go to hospitals or other medical places as needed. (He also advises people over 70 to try to avoid people as much as possible.)

This is a developing story, so keep checking back for updates.
