A Taiwanese chain that features tea with brown sugar appears to be on its way to the local area.
According to an article from Eater Boston, Tiger Sugar is planning to expand to the Boston area, with paperwork filed with addresses in Allston and Cambridge's Harvard Square. It is not yet known whether actual shops will open in these two neighborhoods, but a rep for the company does say that they have expansion plans for the region. (An earlier article had mentioned that a Korean food hall coming to Manhattan that will include a location of Tiger Sugar is also hoping to bring a food hall to Boston, but those plans aren't yet confirmed--and it isn't known whether Tiger Sugar might be included there if it does open.)
Tiger Sugar offers brown sugar boba (bubble tea), with Eater saying that they use a brown sugar syrup with milk along with slow-cooked tapioca pearls.
