Flour Bakery to Open in Boston's Beacon Hill Neighborhood

It looks like a popular local group of bakery-cafes will be expanding to one of Boston's most historic neighborhoods.

According to an Instagram post, Flour Bakery is going to be opening in the city's Beacon Hill neighborhood, with the Cambridge Street shop being its ninth location--and based on the address, it appears that it may be taking over the former Au Bon Pain space in the Charles River Plaza near where Beacon Hill and the West End meet. In the post, owner Joanne Chang indicates that she had been looking at almost this exact same space 20 years ago when she was looking to open her first location, and she has continued to look at Beacon Hill over the years. Once it opens, the new outlet of Flour will join other locations in the South End, Seaport District, Fort Point, the Back Bay (2), Cambridge's Harvard Square, Central Square, and Cambridgeport.

In addition to winning Outstanding Baker in 2016 from the James Beard Foundation, Joanne Chang is also known for defeating Bobby Flay in a sticky bun competition on the Food Network.

The address for the upcoming location of Flour in Beacon Hill is 209 Cambridge Street, Boston, MA, 02114. The website for all locations can be found at https://ift.tt/2i9UrB5
