Friendly's in Stoneham Is Closing

What was once a large regional chain of restaurants and ice cream shops is closing one of its last Boston-area locations.

According to a source, who posted on the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page (and who called the dining spot to confirm), Friendly's in Stoneham is shutting down on November 10. Once the Main Street location closes, there will no longer be any standalone Friendly's restaurants inside Route 128, as the Logan Airport shop will be the only one remaining; a few others are still open a bit further out, including in Norwood, Peabody, and Weymouth.)

Friendly's, which is headquartered in Wilbraham, was established in Springfield back in 1935.
