Carrot Pesarapappu Kura ~ Easy Side Dish for Roti

Carrot Pesarapappu Kura is one of the simplest and easiest side dishes you can make for a comforting dinner served for Rotis.

Simple moong dal with slightly sweetish carrots in it makes a typical comfort food for us. When Amma made this sometime back, I suddenly remembered that it’s been a while since we made this simple dal at home.

Hubby Dear is not very fond of these bland dals served and hence I have stopped making it for him. However, when we have to make easy and simple ones for Daddy, we end up making these dals. It was typically one of those dinners, where we were cooking different meals for kids and the elders at home.

We made this dal for Daddy as he doesn’t like Paneer Butter Masala. I remember the many dinners where it used to be such easy and simple dals with different vegetables and three of us would love it. It was a period when my brother was in college and it was just three of us.

Thinking about those days, I remembered that it was a short period in my growing life where it was just us. Else we always had a house guest in different periods for a different duration. So the menu was almost always an elaborate one catering to all the needs. Amma was almost always in the kitchen.

Coming from Andhra, these dals weren’t to their liking. So we kept it to the days, it was just us. So when Amma made this for Daddy, I thought I must share this recipe that serves as an easy dinner idea for Rotis.

Finally, it sure feels great writing a relaxed long post than those hurried posts with many pictures! I am not complaining though. We are starting our BM#105 regular Edition with Week 1 where I will be featuring easy everyday side dishes. I am still catching my breath after our month long BM with Sweets and Snacks.
