A popular Italian restaurant on the North Shore has closed its doors.
According to its website and Facebook page, Firenze Trattoria in Salem is no longer in business, with a Facebook post saying that "We are touched and honored to be part of this fantastic community and lucky to have been surrounded by its warmth and love....the memories and great friends we made at Firenze will stay with us forever." Another Facebook post indicates that a new dining spot will soon be opening in its space and that Aaron Chambers (who is apparently the same Aaron Chambers who has worked at Not Your Average Joe's, Craigie on Main, and Bar Boulud) will be behind it.
Firenze Trattoria, which first opened in 2013, was known for its Tuscan fare, including such items as chickpea soup, rigatoni and sausage and truffle oil, gnocchi with gorgonzola and toasted walnuts, braised beef tripe, center cut pork chops, beef liver, and cacio e pepe.
The address for this now-closed Italian restaurant in Salem was: Firenze Trattoria, 2 Lynde Street, Salem, MA, 01970.
Thanks to a poster within the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page for initially bringing this to our attention.
