Cajun Yankee Appears to Be Returning to Its Space in Cambridge's Inman Square

It looks like a well-known name from long ago could be returning to its space in Cambridge.

According to a source, Cajun Yankee may be opening in Inman Square, moving into the space on Cambridge Street that had been home to the Tex Mex Eats pop-up and before that, Tupelo, Magnolia's Southern Cuisine, and the original incarnation of Cajun Yankee. It is not yet known whether the upcoming version of Cajun Yankee has any connection to the original, nor is it known whether this will be a permanent restaurant or another pop-up. (Based on a picture sent, the storefront has signs up for the restaurant, but little other information.)

Cajun Yankee was a wildly popular place that was known for its Creole and Cajun fare back in the 1980s, eventually morphing into Magnolia's before being replaced by Tupelo in 2009.

The address for the upcoming Cajun Yankee is 1193 Cambridge Street, Cambridge, MA, 02139.
