Restaurant Love: Sibyullee

The boom of Korean BBQ joints in the Metro made deciding on where to grab your unli meat fix a daunting task. I've seen several restaurants offering tempting prices but I couldn't help but think of the quality of meat they serve to at least break even. But one establishment proved that you can have a quality meat feast without breaking the piggy bank.

Hello, Sibyullee
Sibyullee has been known for its scrumptious cheese platters when it opened a few years back. It was a hip place that offers great tasting casual Korean dishes and it easily gained following and patrons. And many were thrilled when it rebranded as an unli Korean BBQ joint.
We visited its newly opened branch at Promenade Greenhills last Saturday and I was surprised that the place was half full just 30 minutes after opening its doors.
For just PHP499 (weekday lunch) and PHP549 (weekday dinner, weekends and holidays), you can enjoy 12 kinds of meat (beef, pork and chicken) plus gyeranjjim, haemul pajeon and gimbap! The cheese dip and banchan (side dishes) are unlimited too!
Soy Garlic Fried Chicken is one of my favorites in this spread. Aside from it being cooked in the kitchen, I love its sweet crispy skin and juicy meat. I'm sure that kids would love this too.
Other chicken choices are Spicy Chicken, Salt and Pepper Chicken and Spicy Korean Fried Chicken.
R loves its beef options Woo Samgyup, Marinated Bulgogi and Yangnyeom Woo Samgyup.
All were undeniably fresh and beefy.
Pork lovers would also enjoy its samyupsal (pork belly) plates--Fresh Samgyupsal, Soy Garlic Samgyupsal, and Chili Bean Samgyupsal. There's also Sweet and Spicy Pork Bulgogi and Spicy Pork Bulgogi which have thinner cuts.
Just be careful of the splashes when putting the marinated meats on the grill.
Take a bite of pajeon, gimbap and steamed egg while waiting for the rest of your meats to be cooked or have these to take a break from your meaty feast.
And don't be in a hurry to leave after your meal as Sibyullee has a surprise for every guest... Coffee Jelly Ice Cream!
I heard that Sibyullee even offers clothes spray to neutralize the smell of Korean BBQ! But we had no problem during our visit as the exhaust (located under the table) did its job.

I hope Sibyullee opens a branch up North!

Sibyullee is located at Ground Floor, Promenade Greenhills, San Juan.
