Hello, Papa Diddi's.
Papa Diddi's started with small store along the foodie district Maginhawa focused on creating unique handcrafted ice cream flavors. Such gave this ice cream joint an edge in the ever competitive food scene and eventually gained a strong following and patrons who would visit this shop despite having other more convenient options. Fast forward to 2019, it grew to have two other branches-- one in Libis and another in Poblacion.
This Monday, Papa Diddi's brings back its delicious Scoop All You Can promo where you can enjoy all the scoops you want for just PHP250 per cup.
Feel free to create your very own ice cream tower. Mix and match your favorite flavors and share it with your constant ice cream buddies. But do note one important rule: no leftovers.
As much as Papa Diddi's would love to make things fun and festive, no one wants good food (or ice cream) to waste. And to avoid everyone from getting too crazy scooping, there will be a charge on leftover ice cream based on Papa Diddi's regular rate per scoop.
R and I got a sweet sneak peek yesterday and though the promo was very tempting, we opted to stick with a handful of scoops each. I got an assortment of Queso Blanco, Galletas Y Krema, Tres Leches, Carbon Activado and Double Jeopardy.
My favorites would be Galletas Y Krema which is Papa Diddi's version of cookies and cream and Double Jeopardy which is a mix of dark chocolate and coffee. Both were not overly sweet which pleased my tita (sensitive to overly sweet treats) taste buds.
They tried to hide but the store's too narrow. I appreciate the effort though. :) |
Tres Leches was indeed great! It has that lovely sweet milky taste that I love. I couldn't say the same though with basil which I found too weird as an ice cream flavor.
I also got a bit weirded out by the activated charcoal ice cream which tasted a bit like toothpaste.
I highly suggest that it's best to stick with your favorites or at least safe flavors. Being too adventurous might just ruin your scoop all you can experience.
So whether you opt to go solo or share a cup with a friend or two, just make sure that you don't waste good ice cream just for the gram. After all, ice cream is meant to be enjoyed and not just photographed.
P.S. You get to do the scooping for extra fun. Don't forget to ask for the Papa Diddi's apron and gloves!
