Kothamalli Podi or Kothimeera podi is a spice powder made with fresh coriander leaves and whole spices. This can be served on the side or sprinkled on dosa top.
I actually needed this spicy kick to get back blogging here after a while. The break was unexpected and something out of my hands. There have been days when I didn’t even check on my emails and sites as well. Though religious I would check it for 5 mins in the morning, after which the events would simply take over and play havoc.
Well as I had mentioned we had the worse water scarcity and during some days, it became worse when there was not even a drop of water anywhere. Luckily in the beginning when this hit us hard, kids were at home for vacation. Then it became unimaginable. Anyway we had the worse behind us, and somehow we have some solution now.
Those were also the times, when one becomes very philosophical and thinks ‘this too shall pass!’ How cliched you think? Well we have passed it. During that period, bare minimum cooking was done, with bare minimum use of vessels, and we can proudly say we didn’t order out.
Cooking for the blogs on themes was not even anywhere my thoughts, though I knew I missed making some of my favorite themes I wanted to try last month. I will get to it sometime.
I am not still prepared for this month, with our BM#100 meet on us in two weeks time. Our major time was spent planning and planning different things for the big meet. We have so many of our NRI friends flying down for the meet. Will update soon with pictures. And all of us keep yapping away over whatsapp nonstop.
Coming to the post for the day, we are starting the July Edition BM#102, with Week 1 on Dips and some Spreads. I will be sharing a delicious podi made with fresh coriander leaves and yes this was prepared a while ago when coriander leaves were plenty!
This is a special Dosa Variety that had this podi and Putnala Podi sprinkled and cooked. We have been making this dosa and this combination frequently off late as we have come to love it! If you love spice Podis, check what else is there.
