Hello, Alishan.
Alishan at The Alley should not be confused with The Alley which first opened in Mall of Asia. The former is managed by Dean & Deluca and has nothing to do with the milk tea shop with reindeer in its logo aside from sharing "The Alley".
I heard that the line here could be long on weekdays so I opted to go on a weekend instead. And it was a great idea as there was only one customer ahead of me. I went for Brown Sugar Pearl Milk with Cheese Brûlée (PHP120 | PHP140) and Shizuoka Matcha Latte (PHP120 | PHP140) which are both bestsellers of Alishan.
I was quite disappointed with Xing Fu Tang's and Tiger Sugar's milk boba drinks so I was a bit worried with Alishan's. But reviews saying this joint offers really good (and sweet) brown sugar milk boba made me go for it.
And it was indeed good! Each sip had that pronounced taste of brown sugar and milk. The pearls were cooked to perfection as it was chewy, not mushy or too firm. I was not asked for the sweetness level for this drink but it was spot on to my preference. I couldn't taste the cheese brûlée though so I'll probably go for Brown Sugar Pearl Milk with Cream next time which is PHP10 cheaper.
Shizuoka Matcha Latte was great too! The green tea flavor was there and beautifully blended with milk. It wasn't bitter at all so non-matcha drinkers would enjoy this drink too. And again, the pearls were delightful.
Aside from the superb drinks, I also loved the lightning speed service. My drinks were ready right after I paid for it. It was as if the staff read my mind!
Someone commented on one of my posts that Alishan's drinks are not consistent in taste. There are days when it's good and some when it isn't. If true, I do hope that this gets fixed fast as they serve great tasting drinks.
I can't wait to try its other drinks and for it to open somewhere up North!
