A New York City-based group of "farm-to-counter" restaurants appears to be expanding further into the Boston area, with its first Cambridge outlet possibly on the way.
According to a licensing commission hearing page within the city's website, Dig Inn is planning to open in Harvard Square, with the address shown indicating that it could be moving into the space where a now-closed menswear shop called J.Press had been. If given the green light to open, this would be the fifth location in the Boston area, with others being found at the Prudential Center in Boston's Back Bay, on Washington Street in Downtown Crossing, and on Boylston Street across from Copley Square, while a fourth location plans to open next week in the Fort Point/Seaport District area.
Dig Inn, which was established in 2011, offers locally-sourced food items including "market bowls" that have a grain or salad base and options such as chicken, beef, and salmon.
The address for the proposed location of Dig Inn is 82 Mt. Auburn Street, Cambridge, MA, 02138. The website for the chain can be found at https://www.diginn.com/
