Hello, Serenitea.
Serenitea has been one of my favorite milk tea brands ever since my first sip of its Hokkaido Milk tea back in 2011. And despite the influx of so many boba shops opening in Manila, Serenitea remains to be one of my top 3!
I was very excited when I got word that Serenitea is launching a new set of drinks. And when I got hold of the details that it's cookie and crème brûlée, I got even giddier!
My meeting last Wednesday was just across a Serenitea branch so I decided to swing by the shop to try some of its new drinks. Yes, plural since I want to get the most out of queuing in line.
I tried its Cookie Supreme Matcha (PHP175 | PHP190), Cookie Brûlée Milk Tea (PHP120 | PHP135) and Cookie Supreme Milk Tea (PHP155 | PHP170) for starters. All three comes with sinker of your choice. Other drinks available are Traditional Milk Tea (PHP95 | PHP105) and Cookie Brûlée Matcha (PHP140 | PHP155).
I got my drinks within 10 minutes and surprised with the thick texture of the drinks. All had layers of choco cookie custard with the two supreme drinks topped with choco cookie frost making the drinks even thicker. The frost too added a tinge of saltiness to the drinks which toned down the drinks' sweet taste.
I liked Cookie Brûlée Milk Tea the most from the ones I've tried.
The milk tea taste was pronounced even when there's a generous serving of cookie custard and it was not as thick as the other two drinks. But those who want richer drinks would enjoy the supreme variants. I found it a bit cloying though and could not finish a large cup by myself. But it might have been better if paired with something savory.
Though I still prefer Serenitea's classic milk tea drinks, I wouldn't mind trying the other two drinks in this series.
