Waxy O'Connor's in Woburn Has Closed

A group of Irish pubs continues to disappear from the local landscape, as yet another outlet has closed its doors.

According to multiple sources, Waxy O'Connor's in Woburn has shut down for good, with the closure apparently happening yesterday. The pub joins other locations of Waxy's in Brookline, Foxboro, and Kingston, that have shuttered (another was planned for Somerville's Assembly row but that fell through), with the sole remaining location in the Greater Boston area--and Massachusetts--being in Lexington. Waxy's appears to remain in operation in Keene, NH, Plainville, CT, San Antonio, TX, and Ft. Lauderdale, FL (its first location).

The Woburn location of Waxy O'Connor's had been in business for approximately six years.
