Hello, Mister Kabab.
I used to frequent its air conditioned Pearl Drive branch and order my favorite Chicken Kabab. But gone are the days when driving to my alma mater University of Asia and the Pacific would only take a few minutes.
Though R and I would usually go for delivery whenever we crave for Mister Kabab, we opted to visit its West Avenue branch one time to have late dinner. After all, nothing beats unlimited garlic sauce!
Since it was a bit chilly that night, we went with a bowl of Pumpkin Soup (PHP80) to go with our plates of Chicken Special Chelo Kabab (PHP170) and Beef Special Chelo Kabab (PHP170) both with Basmati Rice (PHP80, solo order). We got a combination of ground and tenderloin to compare the two. For drinks, we went with Watermelon and Green Mango Shake (PHP70 each).
Service was pretty fast. We got our creamy pumpkin soup within 10 minutes. Probably even within 5 minutes.
It had the perfect texture. Though a bit lacking in flavor, it was easily solved with a dash of salt and pepper.
Our kebabs were served next and they were very generous with Basmati rice. We both prefer tenderloin over ground meat as to enjoy its grain and texture.
But for some reason, it seemed that the garlic sauce was bland. It didn't have that delightful garlicky taste I love which goes superbly well with the meats.
Even the chicken and beef were a bit under seasoned.
At least our reasonably priced shakes were not watered down.
Overall, it was still bang for the buck meal. We left the place with very full tummies and undamaged wallet to match.
P.S. This branch is open 24/7 perfect for night owls like us.
