Another restaurant proposal has been submitted for a long-vacant waterfront space on the North Shore.
According to an article in the Beverly Citizen, Martin A. Bloom of MAB Management Corp. (Mission on the Bay Restaurant in Swampscott, Mission Oak Grill in Newburyport) has given a proposal to the city for a restaurant whose working name is The Boathouse and which would be located in a Water Street space that was once home to a McDonald's. The plans show that the dining spot would have a takeout area on the ground floor, a dining area and an outdoor deck on the second floor, and a seasonal dining terrace on the third floor and that it would be an upscale casual restaurant with at least part of its focus being on seafood. If the bid is approved by the city of Beverly, construction on the place could possibly be completed in the fall of 2020.
Several years ago, a location of the Black Cow had been proposed for the same waterfront spot in Beverly, though that fell through along with plans for Flatbread Company to open there as well.
