A small local chain of upscale restaurants may be opening a new location, taking over the space where a location of a chain of Australian-themed restaurants had been.
The Framingham Source is reporting that Burton's Grill is looking to open in the former Outback Steakhouse space on Route 9 in Framingham, with the License Commission looking into the proposal later today. If approved, the 190-seat restaurant would offer contemporary American fare including sandwiches, burgers, steak, and seafood--along with gluten-free and vegetarian options--and it could be opening in the spring of 2019. Currently, outlets of the Andover-based Burton's can be found locally in Burlington, Hingham, North Andover, Peabody, Shrewsbury, Westford, and Nashua, NH, with a handful of others being in Connecticut, Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina.
Outback's Framingham location shut down in early 2017.
The address for the proposed location of Burton's Grill in Framingham is 30 Worcester Road (Route 9), Framingham, MA, 01702.
