Scollay Square in Boston's Beacon Hill May Become The Emory

by Marc Hurwitz

It looks like a Beacon Hill restaurant known in part for its comfort food, extensive wine list, and cocktails is closing, and a new dining and drinking spot is planning to take over its place.

According to a licensing commission hearing page within the City of Boston website, Scollay Square on Beacon Street is looking to transfer its license to The Emory, which would open in its space. The manager listed is Emory Kilgore, who has worked at such places as No. 9 Park, Stoddard's, and The Merchant.

The Legendary Restaurant Group, which is behind Scollay Square, also runs Papagayo, Sip Wine Bar, and Burger Dive; Scollay Square was its first restaurant, opening approximately 14 years ago.

The address for Scollay Square (and the proposed Emory) is 21 Beacon Street, Boston, MA, 02108. The website for Scollay Square can be found at https://ift.tt/2MNZ4A1

Thanks to a source for initially bringing this to our attention.
