Bzar Spice Mix is an Emirati Spice Mix, similar to our Indian Garam Masala. It is blended with butter and drizzled over soups, stews etc.
When I was searching for Spice Blends, I came across some pastes from Indonesian that also used shrimp pastes etc, so had to check again and landed in here to read about Bzar, the Emirati Spice Blend.
Bzar is an integral part of the Emirati Cuisine. This is added in dishes like Emirati Foga, a rice dish topped with meat and finally, this spice is added. Other dishes like stewa referred to as Saloona or Marag. So basically from what I read, I understood that this spice blend is used as the final drizzle over dishes to enhance the taste. It is often used as a rub for meat dishes.
The measurement below gives you a cup of Spice blend. I eyeballed the measurement and got around half a cup. With 3 different spice blends on hand, I know I ought to be little careful. I love spice blends, the final game changer it is for a dish and so I really enjoyed exploring the different spice blends from different countries.
So this is the final condiment I made for BM#89, Week 3 under Pick 3 dishes from 3 Asian Countries.
