Hello, Cake Shots!
Just like how its name suggests, Cake Shots offer baked goods infused with liquor.
I got an assorted box of cupcakes and tried Bailey's Red Velvet Cupcake (PHP70/piece | PHP390/box of 6), Black Label Chocolate Cupcake (PHP90/piece | PHP450/box of 6), Carrots Delight Cupcake (PHP70/piece | PHP390/box of 6) and Tiramisu Cupcake (PHP80/piece).
I first sampled Red Velvet with Bailey's and was delightfully surprised when I peeled off its golden holder.
The cupcake was undeniably moist! It was glistening and teasing me to bite it. And so I did.
It was divine! Each bite was rich and delighted my taste buds. The taste of Bailey's was also evident (though it may be a bit strong for those who can't even take a drop of alcohol) making me feel that I got my money's worth.
The Black Label Chocolate Cupcake was nothing short of decadent. It may look extremely sweet and sinful but the blend of Johnny Walker Black Label with chocolate created a beautiful darker flavor that made me finish one in a snap.
My favorite though would be Tiramisu cupcake infused with Bacardi. Just like the other two, it was moist and had that heavenly taste of coffee. Spiced with rum, I could feel my taste buds having a blast with each mouthful. Creamy but not cloying, I wouldn't mind finishing a box on my own.
I usually avoid carrot cake as I'm not a fan. But Cake Shot's version was pretty good. It definitely does not taste like Bugs Bunny's favorite snack but it had those tiny bits of the orange vegetable that would remind you that you're munching on something not as sinful. It's also good for those who are not fond of liquor as this one is alcohol-free.
Though priced premium, I wouldn't mind buying a box or two to share with family and friends during gatherings.
