A shop that offers New York-style bagels will soon be coming to a Boston neighborhood.
Universal Hub is reporting that Local 338 is opening in West Roxbury, with the Centre Street store moving into the former Upper Crust space and getting its name from a union that had once represented bagel bakers in New York City. A tweet from @WRMS shows that the shop will offer bagels, bagel sandwiches, and organic gourmet coffee, while an earlier Wicked Local article had said that the bagels will be 90 percent completed in New York, then frozen and brought to Boston to finish off the process of making them. The Wicked Local post also stated that Local 338 may sell bialys (a roll flavored with onion that has its roots in Poland), but it is not yet known if this is still the case.)
The address for this upcoming bagel shop in West Roxbury is: Local 338, 1727 Centre Street, West Roxbury, MA, 02132.
