A North End restaurant is looking at opening a second location in the space where a Mexican dining spot used to be.
A post from NorthEndWaterfront.com indicates that the people behind Limoncello on North Street are planning to open a new spot that would be called Limoncello 2 on Salem Street in the former Urban Cantina space, with the North End / Waterfront Neighborhood Council (NEWNC) hearing about the plans on April 10. Last spring we had reported that another proposed spot called North End Oyster had been eyeing the Urban Cantina space--and at the time, the NEWNC had unanimously approved of the license transfer--but it appears that those plans may have fallen through.
The hearing page mentions that no major renovations would be made to the Urban Cantina space and that the closing hour (midnight) would remain the same.
The address for the proposed Limoncello 2 (and now-closed Urban Cantina) is 76 Salem Street, Boston, MA, 02113.
