A North Shore restaurant is shutting down after nearly a decade in business, and another eatery north of Boston could be moving into the space.
According to a Facebook post from OctoCog, Jack-Tar American Tavern in Marblehead is closing, with an earlier post (that has since been deleted) saying that it is selling the Washington Street space to Superfine Food in Manchester-by-the-Sea, which will open SuperFine Marblehead. A note from the owners of Jack-Tar say that they will be moving to Saratoga Springs, NY, where they will open a new restaurant, saying that "it was not an easy decision" but "it is an exciting change that we have been looking forward to." The dining spot first opened in Marblehead back in 2008.
If SuperFine does move into the Jack-Tar space, expect to see such comfort food items as pizza, burgers, fried chicken, ribs, and more there.
The address for Jack-Tar American Tavern (and what could be the upcoming SuperFine Marblehead) is 126 Washington Street, Marblehead, MA, 01945.
