A troubled Irish pub in Quincy that was allowed to remain open while appealing the revocation of its liquor license has apparently had its license taken away for good.
According to an article in the Patriot Ledger, the city's license board voted this week to revoke the license of Clash of the Ash on Hancock Street in Quincy Center after it was cited for serving alcohol to a minor. The board voted last spring to take away the bar's license for the same charge, but the drinking spot appealed the charge and was allowed to stay open during the appeal process. The post says that at this point, Clash of the Ash would need to get an injunction from Norfolk County Superior Court if it wanted to stay open for the time being, but with the bar's lawyer saying earlier this month that the place would either be sold or close down over the coming days, it does not seem that this is would be a viable option.
Clash of the Ash first opened back in 2008, taking over the space where Sarsfield's had been.
The address for Clash of the Ash is 1464 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA, 02169.
