Welcome to my new space! Yes after many years of procrastinating, I have finally moved to my own space. It took many months of struggle to get the migration done as I was dealing with 9 years of data and I had to move through different plans to accommodate the huge content. We have a sweet for beginning and of course for everything. This quick Gajar Halwa in the pressure cooker is just what you need to indulge when you crave for one. I have already made the Carrot Halwa this way couple of times and it comes out awesome every time. You can still make it the traditional way or in Microwave. Just this pressure cooker method makes it easy when you are planning to make a party menu.

You can make the Carrot Halwa in Microwave or on Regular method on Stovetop

There is also the notion that one has to grate their way towards the final glorious texture. However, by cooking this in the pressure cooker, I showed it to a couple of people who had this notion that even if we grind it coarsely, you still end up with a great texture to the final product. However, one has to be very careful in grinding it to a coarse texture and not making it a juice.

Making Gajar Halwa is Pressure cooker makes it an easy task when you are planning a Party Menu. This gets done in 30 mins unlike the regular stove top method that takes so much time.

Instructions
  1. Wash and grate the carrots.
  2. In a pressure cooker, take the grated carrots along with 1 cup sugar, 2 cups water. Pressure cook for 3 whistles. Once the pressure falls, remove the lid, and continue cooking on high for the water to evaporate.
  3. When the carrots thicken, add 1/2 tin condensed milk and simmer.
  4. In a small pan heat the ghee, and roast the chopped almonds. Add this to the carrot halwa.
  5. Serve hot.
