Mixed Fruits Rava Kesari

Happy Dussehra to all my readers! Celebrate the day with this delicous Mixed Fruit Rava Kesari.

Today is special for us in another way as well, as its our boys Tenth Birthday. I have taken the day off to spend time with them, plus complete the special Dussehra pooja. I have been observing the Navaratri Pooja this year as well with special rice dishes and a sundal for each day, as its been a custom with me all these years.

On the tenth day, being the Dussehra or Vijayadashami, we have a special pooja with the regular Festival Menu.

The Festival Menu always includes

Poli / Holige, Chitrannam, Vankaya Bangaladumpa Kura, Masala Vada for the Brunch.

To make it extra special and the fact that I asked if Amma can give me ideas for a sweet dish thats traditionally made during festival time, she went ahead and made this Fruits Kesari.

Mixed Fruits Rava Kesari

Mixed Fruits Kesari is quite popular in Tamil Nadu and we have seen it been served during weddings or during special festival caterings done. The Vegetarian Fine Dining includes this in their Menu.

Though I do have Pineapple KesariMicrowave Mixed Fruits Halwa, never came around making a kesari with mixed fruits. Traditionally pinapple is added to this instead of Kiwi. Amma said she wanted all colours and completely forgot about pineapple.

She told me that Daddy simply loved it and was asking if I have clicked pictures. Yes of course, how can I miss when this was specially for today and for this series, a special from Tamil Nadu.
