A highly-rated Brookline restaurant that is affiliated with a nationally-recognized dining spot is getting ready to call it a day.
The Boston Globe confirms what we had heard from a couple of sources over the past few months, that Ribelle in Washington Square is shutting down. The article says that chef/owner Tim Maslow has sold it and the restaurant will close for good at the end of business hours tomorrow (Saturday, July 2). While we have heard who might have purchased the place, we will not publish this information until it is made public.
Ribelle first opened in August of 2013, joining Strip-T's in Watertown, which remains open and is run by Tim and his father Paul. (Ribelle received a top rating of four stars from the newspaper shortly after it opened.) The Globe says that Tim will continue to be involved with Strip-T's, but will now be working with Tiffani Faison at her Fenway restaurant Tiger Mama.
The address for Ribelle is 1665 Beacon Street, Brookline, MA, 02445.
