Intelligentsia Coffee Plans to Open Shop in Watertown

It looks like a Chicago-based coffee roaster is going to be opening a shop in the Boston area.

Eater Boston is reporting that Intelligentsia Coffee is planning to open a retail outlet somewhere in Watertown and it is now looking to hire for the upcoming store. The coffee roasting company, which is majority-owned by California-based Peet's Coffee & Tea, currently has six locations in Chicago, three in the Los Angeles area, and one in New York City; the shops offer coffee and espresso options, along with some food items including pastries.

Intelligentsia first started out in 1995 on Broadway on the north side of Chicago and is now headquartered on West Fulton Street in the West Town/Near West Side area. Its website can be found at http://ift.tt/rxSXA0
