Glass House, K2 Cafe May Be Coming to Cambridge's Kendall Square

Last fall, we reported that a local restaurant group was planning to open a dining spot and multi-use space in the Kendall Square section of Cambridge. Now we have learned that the proposed name of the restaurant has changed, and there may also be a second eatery next door as well.

According to a license commission general hearing page within the city of Cambridge website, a dining spot originally called Launch will now apparently be called Glass House, and it is still planning to open at 450 Kendall Street, while another eatery called K2 Cafe is being proposed for 500 Kendall Street. The names mentioned in both listings--Thomas Shea and Austin O'Connor, respectively--are behind The Briar Group, which operates Solas, The Green Briar, O'Connor's, Anthem, Ned Devine's, City Table, City Bar, The Harp, Brew, and Gather. Earlier, it was mentioned that Launch/Glass House would be a restaurant including a flexible space that could be used for meetings, presentations, classes, and more, while the hearing notice for K2 Cafe indicates that it may be a breakfast and lunch spot with hours being 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.

As soon as we find out more informtation on both Glass House and K2 Cafe, we will post an update here.
