Mary Dumont to Open Cultivar in Cambridge

Last year we reported that one of the best-known chefs in the Boston area was leaving her job at a decades-old restaurant in order to open her own dining spot. Now we have learned a bit more about the eatery that she is opening.

The Tables section of The Boston Globe states that Harvest alum Mary Dumont is planning to open Cultivar, a restaurant that will offer dry-aged meats, sustainable seafood, ingredients found in the wild, and vegetables that are grown in a hydroponic garden. While the Globe's post states that an exact location for the dining spot has not been given as of yet, several sources--including a post within the James Beard Foundation side--say that it will apparently be coming to Cambridge.

Dumont, who was the chef at Harvest in Harvard Square for eight years until leaving last year, is also known for her appearance on the Food Network's Iron Chef America and Food and Wine magazine's awarding her "best new chef" in 2006.
