Lineage Restaurant in Brookline to Close

An award-winning restaurant in Brookline is going to be closing its doors for good.

The Boston Globe is reporting that Lineage on Harvard Street is planning to shut down after 10 years in business, confirming what we had heard over the past month from a restaurant insider. The article says that chef-owner Jeremy Sewall will focus on Island Creek Oyster Bar in Boston's Fort Point (and a second location in Burlington which is coming soon), along with Row 34 in Fort Point and Portsmouth, NH, and an upcoming oyster bar in Cambridge's Harvard Square--and that he also wants to be able to spend more time with his family.

Lineage first opened in 2005, with Sewall and his wife Lisa offering mostly seasonal New American plates using fresh ingredients. The dining spot has been listed among the best in America by both Bon Appetit and GQ, according to a post within the Culinary Institute of America website.

Lineage is expected to close on August 1.

The address for this restaurant in Brookline is: Lineage, 242 Harvard Street, Brookline, MA, 02446. Its website can be found at \http://ift.tt/1cWRclZ
