Despite what you may have seen on social media over the past several days, a near-legendary burger chain is not coming to a suburb of Boston.
As mentioned in an article on boston.com, In-N-Out Burger is going to be opening in Medford, Oregon, but the Facebook post of a TV channel in that city did not make it completely clear as to which Medford it would be coming to, simply saying that "In-N-Out Burger has officially bought a building permit in Medford and has started breaking ground as of Monday." The post, which went up on May 7, has since been shared by more than 5,000 people--including many in the Boston area who mistakenly thought that it would be coming to Medford, MA--and the original post itself includes comments such as "East coast is going to love em," "Nice! I hope they put one in on the South Shore too," "Congrats, Mass.," "Welcome to the east coast," "hell yeah in n out burger has made it to Massachusetts," and "[come to] Middleton. Ma. Closer to cows."
For Bostonians who are interested in taking a lengthy road trip, the In-N-Out Burger in Medford, Oregon is expected to open in September.
